Scholarships

The Academy of Hotel Management and Catering in Poznan grants financial aid to students who meet the requirements of the Law of July 20,2018. (Law on Higher Education) and the Regulations on Scholarships dated October 01, 2019. Within the funding of the MNiSW funds, the Scholarship Committee grants material aid in the form of:

  • Rector’s scholarship for the best students
It is awarded for academic achievements (for one semester) or for outstanding achievements in sports or arts (both for one academic year). The application for the rector's scholarship should be printed from the WSHiG website and, in the case of the scholarship for high academic achievements, should be submitted after the completion of the Winter or Summer session. The required grade point average should be at least 4.75 for the semester. In the case of outstanding sporting achievements, a certificate from a sports club should be attached along with the diplomas confirming sporting activity. After accepting the application, the scholarship is paid by the end of each month with the first payment for October and November in December of the current year. Another application for the rector's scholarship for the best students should be submitted after the completion of the summer session in the new academic year in October. Students in the last year of undergraduate and graduate studies, the rector's scholarship for the best students is paid until the moment of passing the diploma exam, after which the student becomes a graduate of the Academy (also in case of earlier date of defending the diploma thesis before June 30 of the current year).
  • Scholarship for disabled
It is awarded to WSHiG students with a disability certificate. The scholarship is paid monthly for 10 months. The application should be printed from the WSHiG website and submitted in October together with a photocopy of a current disability certificate.
  • Social Scholarship
It is awarded to those WSHiG students who present their difficult financial situation through the required documentation. The scholarship is paid monthly for 10 months. The printed application form should be completed and submitted in October at the Rector's Office (2nd floor) or sent by post to the Academy's address (the date on the postmark is decisive).

The following documents must be attached to the application:

  • Certificate from the Tax Office on the income for 2020 of all family members in a joint household.
  • Certificate of income for 2020 of self-employed persons, those settling lump sum or tax card (Annex 1 in the application).
  • Certificate of education in case of a sister, brother over 18 years of age.
  • In the case of unemployed persons, a certificate from the Labor Office stating the benefits received.
  • A certificate of income from an agricultural holding for persons who have such a holding.
  • A photocopy of court decisions on divorce, alimony or a certificate from the alimony fund, from the bailiff.

Monthly income level The statutory income threshold per person in a family guaranteeing a maintenance grant in the academic year 2021/2022 is PLN 668.2 (net). This means that students and doctoral students whose monthly income per capita in the family, as established in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Higher Education, does not exceed PLN 668.2, are entitled to a maintenance grant at the Academy once they have met the statutory requirements and detailed criteria included in the regulations for determining the amount, granting and payment of financial aid benefits, as defined by the rector in consultation with the institutional student self-government body, and in the case of doctoral students - with the institutional doctoral student self-government body. Moreover, the maintenance grant may also be granted to students and doctoral students with income exceeding this amount, provided that the rector, in consultation with the student and doctoral student self-government bodies, sets a higher income threshold, taking into account the capacity of the financial support fund for students and doctoral students - up to PLN 1051.70.

Financial aid

It may be granted at the request of a student who due to a fortuitous event is temporarily in a difficult financial situation. This benefit is not granted if the difficult material situation is not caused by a fortuitous event, but only by a difficult financial situation - in such a case the student may apply for a maintenance grant. A fortuitous event is understood as e.g. death or serious illness of a member of the student's family, natural disasters (e.g. fire, flood) and others, as a result of which the student found himself in a difficult financial situation. The application should be printed along with the documentation confirming the occurrence and submitted to the Scholarship Committee.

Attention: A student may receive a maintenance grant and the rector's grant for the best students or a grant for the disabled at the same time. The student has the right to appeal from the decision concerning the refusal to grant a scholarship or financial aid to the Appeal Scholarship Committee within 14 days from receiving the decision. The scholarship is exempt from income tax during the annual settlement in the Tax Office.
