The oldest such Academy in Poland

The Academy of Hotel Management and Catering Industry is the oldest school of its kind in Poland. It was established by the Ministry of National Education in 1993. Its founder was Dr. Roman Dawid Tauber, a WSHiG professor. For 31 years the Academy has been providing high quality education using modern and proven methods in both full-time and part-time courses in the field of Tourism and Recreation. Practical profile allows to prepare specialists, who consciously plan their professional career path.

Unrivaled

Since 1995, the Academy has actively participated in foreign gastronomic competitions, winning titles all over the world. Thanks to the knowledge gained at the Academy, students have presented their skills in such countries as Barcelona, Budapest, Finland, Czech Republic, France, Greece, Peru, Cuba, Mexico, Brazil, Ecuador, United Arab Emirates, Chile, Bolivia or Ukraine.

International character

WSHiG's international character is also reflected in the internships organized by the Academy in the best hotel chains all over the world. The curriculum is adapted to the current requirements of employers so that graduates of the Academy of Hotel Management and Catering Industry possess as many practical skills as possible. Since 1999, under the Socrates programme, and now the Erasmus+ programme, students have had the opportunity to go on attractive work placements in Spain, France, Greece, Luxembourg, Italy, England and Ireland.

The WSHiG curriculum takes into account the education of foreign students. So far, students from Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Turkey, Egypt and Peru have graduated the Academy.

Constantly updated curriculum

The WSHiG curriculum is built on the basis of the situation on the hospitality industry market, it puts great emphasis on students' personal development and the training of professional staff in this industry. WSHiG prepares candidates for their future profession in a reliable and responsible way, creating at the same time opportunities to experience inspiring and fascinating adventure during internships and placements in Poland and abroad.

Modern teaching facilities

In 1995, the purchase of the building at 19 Nieszawska Street allowed the Academy to expand and create an excellent didactic base equipped with modern scientific rooms and gastronomic workshops. Since 2003 WSHiG periodically organizes International Scientific Conference, in which participants are specialists operating in the hotel and gastronomy industry.

Currently, the Academy of Hotel Management and Catering Industry in Poznan is one of the few institutions of higher education on the educational map of Poland, which prepares the future elite of hoteliers and caterers.
